Graduate Division Orientation
This orientation will be available online via Canvas. If you do not complete this in a timely manner, it could result in a hold being placed on your registration so it is highly recommended you work on completing this as soon as it is made available by Graduate Division. They will contact you regarding this.

Safety Orientation
This orientation is mainly for PhD students who will be working in labs with potentially hazardous materials. The safety orientation date and time for Fall 2026 to be determined. It has historically been offered in September and you can check back here periodically for any updates. Information regarding this orientation will be delivered to your R'Mail account through UCR's Environmental Healthy and Safety Department. Please keep an eye out for this email as it is mandatory.

International Students and Scholars Orientation
The date and time for the Fall 2026 International Student Orientation (ISO) is still to be announced. Traditionally, it has been offered in the second or third week of September. Orientation will be in person. No make-up dates will be available.
During ISO you will learn about life at UCR, and about off and on campus resources through presentations from various departments and offices on campus. There will be opportunities to connect with your peers, explore the campus as a group, more! You can find more information on orientation here: https://international.ucr.edu/students/orientation.
Orientation updates and information will be sent to your UCR email account (called R'Mail), so please check that account regularly. A link to register will also be provided on this page once the date and time have been announced so be sure to check back periodically.

Mechanical Engineering Department Orientation
This orientation will be held during the 3rd week of September, 2025 from 1PM-4PM, before the start of instruction. Exact date to be announced soon. The Orientation will be held in Bourns A265. Please mark your calendar as attendance is MANDATORY. A picture of the building is located below. Bourns A265 is located on the second floor, Wing A.

Teaching Assistant Orientation
This orientation is mandatory for all new students that will TA in their first year. All New TA Orientation components for Academic Year 2025-2026 will be held online via eLearn. The orientation will be asynchronous; however, our expectation is that each TA will complete the required training between the beginning of the quarter and the conclusion of Week 3.
